TV Show Review: An Incredible Show, If You Can Make It Through the First 4 Seasons

This TV show is an incredible series. It has compelling, deeply resonant characters, a thick plot that keeps you guessing, and a script that just heaps layer upon layer of suspenseful mystery and shocking reveals. The performances are gripping. The twists are delectable. The visuals are a work of art. You won’t be able to turn this show off. It’s addicting. I truly don’t know how anyone made a show this good. It’s like Zeus struck the earth with lightning and made this show.

Of course, you need to give the show a little time to get going.

Season 1 was pretty bad. Honestly, it’s some of the worst stuff put to screen in recent memory. It makes you want to gauge out your own eyeballs. It’s dull, boring, egregiously slow, and insulting… the flaws are endless. None of the characters resonate. Season 1 is just a crime.

But don’t get me started on season 2. Season 2 makes season 1 look like season 7. It’s just that atrocious. Watching season 2 is like trudging through mud with a cement block in your backpack. You’ll be begging for your wife to ask you to do some household chores, just to give you a brief respite from the horrors of watching season 2. The characters are annoying. The writers can’t decide if it’s a romance show or a murder mystery. It’s predictable and nonsensical at the same time, with an awful color palette to boot. They should show season 2 in interrogation rooms to make criminals break.

Season 3 is slightly better, I guess. But still not great. It’s quite forgettable and still a bit too slow and boring.

Then there’s season 4. We don’t talk about season 4. Real fans of the show never mention it. I almost didn’t make it through. I have my doubts you have what it takes. I think watching season 4 is what gave my uncle cancer.

But season 5….

You literally can’t imagine how good season 5 is. All the plot threads and set up from the first 4 seasons start to make sense. The characters suddenly become some of your favorite people in the world. The new key grip really helped turn the show around. Watching season 5 is the equivalent of Andy Drufresne escaping Shawshank prison. It’s all so glorious.

And seasons 6-9 are even better. The show was written by angels. Every performance deserves an Emmy. And the series finale gave me my purpose in life.

Rich, profound, and life changing… this might just be the greatest TV show ever made.

I just hope you have the fortitude to make it through seasons 1-4. It’s only 104 episodes altogether. Just remember, it will be worth it in the end. You can thank me when you get there.
