The X-Men. The New Avengers. The Fantastic Four. The Wakandans.
Marvel’s next anticipated film, Avengers: Doomsday, will feature several noteworthy “teams” who will have to work together to take down Robert Downy Jr.’s menacing villain Dr. Doom. While these iconic teams from Marvel comics are getting most of the attention, Marvel is continuing to branch out to include other epic squads from elsewhere in the multiverse. Based on totally legitimate plot leaks, here are a few super teams you should look for in Avengers: Doomsday.

Tom Cruise is at it again. Ethan Hunt and crew will make an appearance in Doomsday, and will probably be more interesting than the actual superhuman characters. Cruise was only on set for a couple days (and according to reports was furious to learn about the existence of CGI). So, expect a minor role for Cruise and co., especially after Kevin Feige said in an interview recently that the crossover only happened so they could have Tom Cruise greet the audience before the film starts to say thank you for watching Avengers Doomsday in theaters.

A new team from the Warner Bros. cartoon universe is reportedly entering the MCU. We can expect to see Buggs Bunny appear out of thin air to munch a carrot and ask Victor von Doom “eh, what’s up, doc?” And according to multiple leaks, the comedy in the film may involve Elmer Fudd taking a shot at Rocket Raccoon after Thor calls Rocket a rabbit. If the crossover goes well, Marvel executives have hinted that Marvin the Martian may take over as the next big bad villain for the Avengers to go up against. How exciting!
The Muppets

This may be more of a cameo, but leaks indicate the Muppets will arrive in the Marvel universe, crossing over from their own universe “by map.” Controversially, the MCU has gender-swapped Dr. Bunsen Honeydew’s assistant Beaker as part of an effort to encourage women to go into STEM fields. But it’s Gonzo who will get most of the attention. As the trailer hinted, he will have a fight with one of the X-men characters. Fans will have to wait and see if this showdown will involve Gonzo being launched from a canon.
According to the script, Yelena also quips to Kermit, “you know there aren’t that many songs about rainbows, right?”

Yes, the moment has finally arrived! An alternative universe in which all living beings are talking vegetables living on a kitchen counter will cross over into the MCU, bringing in fan-favorite characters such as Bob the Tomato and Junior Asparagus. We can definitely expect to get some spectacular action sequences featuring Larryboy, who will make his live action big screen debut. But the singing vegetables will be even more integral to bringing the emotional weight of the film. According to one leak, Larry the cucumber and Bob the Tomato will heal Sentry from his raging depression by telling him “God made you special, and he loves you very much.”
We can’t wait to watch all these amazing characters on December 18. Which team are you most excited to see in Avengers: Doomsday?
